What If Someone Steals My Content?

Last Updated: May 17, 2011 01:36PM PDT

We'll definitely fight for your rights! :)

Content Crooner only distributes the articles, so you keep the rights to your content. If your rights are violated, our Customer Care Representatives will do their absolute best to stop the misuse of your content.

There are two possible ways this can happen. Content can be used without proper accreditation from websites on the Content Crooner Publisher List, or from private websites which are not listed on the Content Crooner Publisher List.

If the site in question is on the Content Crooner Publisher List, then a Content Crooner Customer Care Representative will contact the Publisher to handle the matter. This situation is considered to be very serious and please be assured that absolutely every action possible in our power will take place. If the Publisher does not comply with our requests, then they will be blacklisted.

If the site in question is not on the Content Crooner Publisher List, then most likely what happened is that the content was stolen from a directory, seeing as article directories are open to the public. In this case, one may consider it as an acceptable loss. But that doesn't mean there's nothing you can do about it. First of all, think of it this way: perhaps someone sneaks into a movie for free, that doesn't mean you shouldn't put your movie in theaters. The thing to remember is that your article is still being published in article directories who are properly giving you due credit.

For situations like this, we recommend using the Google URL Removal Tool.

That should help authors to remove stolen content from Google listings!
